01: The Project
The property & its future
The purchase of the Category B listed former Clydesdale Bank in Banff is planned for November 2026. RMP are currently looking into the possibility of obtaining a grant to allow urgent roof repairs to be carried out.
The plan is to convert the building into a restaurant. When complete, the building will provide a new 35-cover restaurant with access to a courtyard, and potentially a bar/bistro in the former bank building.
Work on the building is being undertaken in phases, as and when funding allows. Phase 1, comprising the complete external refurbishment of the building, is anticipated to be completed in February 2027. A further phase of work to create a 35-cover restaurant in the courtyard behind the building is being reviewed, with works anticipated to begin in March 2027.
A further scope of works began in November 2026, looking at suitable uses for the former bank building, including a 35-cover restaurant.
